Vintage suitcase...part 2!

This morning I was eager to check out how the suitcase has dried out...quite pleased with the results and keen to move on to the next stage of the old baggage revamp!

After ripping pages out of an old book, I made up a PVA mix and decoupaged a new lining for the suitcase. It's dried quite well and has also given the case a bit more rigidity.

I need to rummage around the still chaotic garage to look for supplies next...wish me luck, I could be gone a long time!

Old suitcases!!!!!

I have failed miserably at decluttering!!!! In fact rather than getting rid of stuff, yesterday I bought an old suitcase from ebay but on collecting it, I came away with not just one, but four!!!!

Here are the first two I have started working on today.

Tying to concentrate on just the smaller case, I got out the paint and sat in the garden.

A few coats of paint later and a bit of de-stressing I set upon ripping up a paperback book.

Just waiting for it to dry now before I can start the next stage!

Not very productive but nothing more enjoyable than sitting in the garden on a sunny Sunday afternoon, just wasting time with paint and old paper!!

Bye for now.

Vintage Card for a Man!!!

Please don't fall off your chairs, BUT.....(drum roll please) I have actually made a card today!

A colleague asked me to sway sessions with her so I had an unexpected day to myself. I was a good girl, did a bit of housework first, then sat down to do some work records. I had a light lunch and spent some more time organising and re-shuffling "stuff" in my craft room then I set to work.

I really cannot remember the last time I made a card, it must have been months ago!

I have recently treated myself to a few new stamps, some from Lili of the Valley, which I was eager to try out. I had already stamped out several image so I thought they were a good place to start my creative journey again!

Yesterday I organised all my ink pads and embossing powders and seeing as they were so accessible I thought I'd dabble with a little bit of heat embossing. I have never really done much, or been that successful but I have a few new embossing powders on my crafty wishlist so I had to justify them. It does help add dimension and texture too.
I would have loved to have got my sewing machine out and sewn around the edges of this card but I just ran out of time.

The background stamp and tags are from Lili of the Valley, the little frame and sentiment are from a very old set, possible Anna Griffin...and the dragonfly is from the recent freebie IndigoBlu set.

I recycled the ribbons, the striped ribbon was some packaging from Next, the textured crinkly red ribbon probably needs no clues, especially if you are partial to a bit of chocolate.

My card meet the criteria at;
Crafts by Carolyn - Something for a man
Open Minded Crafting - Use some ribbon
Rhedd and Rosie - It's all about texture
Totally Gorjuss - Don't be square

Vintage swap!!!

Today I got my parcel for the Vintage Swap from Juanita!!!! Lookie, lookies at what I got!!! They are absolutely lovely Juanita, I am SO going to try to tidy my desk so you will be actually able to see the lovley fabric bowl especially!!!

I am still in progress of yours....with the children at home progress has been slow but it is starting to come together now and I am loving working with the really rustic, earthy colours in contrast to what I have been making recently.

Here are a few tasters for you Juanita!!
