A leafy Dottie!

It's Lou's turn to set us a challenge over on Dottie's World this week;

"Are you all tired of seeing cold bare trees? I sure am so this week I want you all to encourage spring to come early! I want to see leaves on your creations. They could be paper ones, fabric ones stamped or even real ones! The only other rule is that you use a Charmed download please.."

Not sure of the colour on this and the lighting doesn't help either. Peachy tones aren't a colour I use very often and I am not that happy with the result.

Monochomatic Dottie!

It is Gunn's turn to set the challenge for us over at Dottie's World! What a fabby challenge it is too;
"Hello you all.
It is my turn to deceide this week, and I tried to make an easy challenge this time. I want monochromatic and the color to use is WHITE - you can use from the lightest white to ivory and cream.And for a special extraI want you to use a small touch of the lightest brown. Your charmed ones is allowed to have skin and hair colors. A Charmed Download is a must, so don`t forget that one. Have fun with this one.Gunn."

Now I struggled at first trying to decide which image to use but once I'd actually got going it was such great fun. I also struggled with patterned papers not really having anything that was quite suitable so in the end I decided to stick to a basic white card...eek. Now that's something I don't often do! LOL

As well as skin and hair colours I used just E51 Milky White, E51 Raw Silk and my colourless blender. ( and a tiny bit of pale green which I dulled down with my blender too...hope this isn't cheating tooooo much!) I added a bit of detail with Liquid pearlsd and gave some brads a touch of lustre with a glimmery nail varnish!
Come along and join the fun, I'd love to see what you come up with!

Copic Colour Challenge #47

Hello every one, well my crafty "me time" is still not really going to plan and all I seem to actually do is make time for the DT card I have to do. My "Grand Desk Clearing" isn't going that well either, progress is slow, but at least it's progress!
Mum is still in hospital and the snow is still falling and still disrupting life here in Kent. At least the children's schools are open again and I have managed a few sessions at work in the Pre-school. Life is plodding along in it's hap-hazard way!
Anyway, here is the card I made for this week's Copic Colour Challenge;

And this week the colours are;

Now I struggled a bit with these colours as I didn't have any of them so I grabbed the closest I did had and set to work with the fabby Puddleduck Pothington stamp from Toodles and Binks!
(Sorry about the lighting, it was dark when I took the pics yesterday and it's darker and gloomier and snowing today so I don't expect to get any better results for a while!)
Pop over & join in the Copic Fun, yet another great sponsor so be in with a chance of some candy!

A Dottie Sketch!

This week over on Dottie's World we have a sketch challenge. I haven't done a sketch for ages so I really enjoyed this one!
"Hello Happy Sunday! Nicole here hosting this week's challenge.I have an easy challenge this week; a sketch. I hope you have as much fun playing with it as I did making it! Just add a charmed download and you can play along with us this week."

I decided to use some pretty spring like colours to get away from the gloomy and snow that is still falling here!

Now what to do.....

.......on another snowy, snowy day? The schools are closed and I am still in search of my crafty mojo!

View from my craft room window!

Mum is back up in King's, London but they have decided NOT to do a biopsy on her new kidney. The feeling is that it is working OK...it's a mixture of other comlications causing the problems. I believe they are going to take her off tacrolimus, one of her main anti-rejection medications. I am still all over the place and cannot settle into anything, not helped with constant requests from the children.
Anyway I took inspiration from some pictures of crafting areas on Paper Craft Planet yesterday and have decided to attempt the HUGE task of tidying and organising my junk/craft room. You never know...I may find my mojo lurking beneath the junk!

Copic Colour Challenge #46

Hi everyone!
I have a New Year's Resolution...to find my mojo!!!! Not sure I am on the right track yet but here is a card for this week's Copic Colour Challenge. We have a lovely colour combination this week, take a look:

As well as that, we have a fantastic sponsor so pop over and join in!

Here is my card! Now have you got a few squashed, out of shape or off centred blooms that you keep putting back in the pot? I know I have...so I popped one through an embossing folder and voila! Not 100% happy with it a smaller embossed pattern would work better but at least I didn't put the bloom back!LOL

Dottie New Year!

B-ring out the old, B-ring in the New!

As we have entered a New Year I would like you to look back at your "Crafts of the Past" dig out something from your stash, blow off the dust and put it to use with a new item that you have recently bought or been given as a pressie! As long as you use a Charmed Download, the rest is up to you.
I used the new "Market Day" image from the NEW Sugar and Spice collection and also a new embossing folder I treated myself to the other day. The paper and lace is quite an old addition to my stash but not as old as the greeting stamp and the sizzix heart die I use for the embellishment! ...and if I were to be really brutal, the brilliance "coffee bean" ink, the brown marvy marker and the metallic rub ons are probably some of the first items in my cardmaking stash from years ago!!!!!

Dottie's gone all Girly!

This week over on Dottie's World the challnge is simply to make a card for a girl.My plan was for me to use another image from the fab new "Sugar and Spice" collection but time got the better of me I am afraid to say so I am showing you a girlie Christmas card I made last week!

Only days to go!!!!!!

...and am I ready....ho ho ho...of course not! I have been hindered by the flu and snow but still optimistic!

Anyway, made another Xmas card yesterday ready for the latest challenge over on Dottie's World. It was Gunn's turn to set the challenge:
"Christmas is only a few days away. Here in Norway we do celebrate christmas eve (24th) with gifts under the christmas tree. In UK and lots of other countries you celebrate christmas morning (25th) with gifts in your stockings. In my family we got a christmas stocking on chrismas morning, not with gifts, but with sweets..... Can you guess what i want...?
Yes, please.. I want you to use a christmas stocking in your card or project. It can be paper, die cuts, punches- whatever and how you want to. The main thing to remember is to use a Charmed downloads to go."
Now I struggled with this, my inspiration is still long lost so eventually I cheated by using an old "Anita's" stamp as a background. I adore the little girl "Market Day" from the new Sugar and Spice download collection- she was a dream to colour!

3 Stars for Dottie!

It is Nicole's turn to set the challenge over at Dottie's World today and here it is;
"For this week's challenge I would like to see three snowflakes along with a Charmed Download. Snowflakes can be felt/die cut/glittered/flocked/distressed/airbrushed...use your imagination or keep it simple....but make sure you have fun!"

Still desperately in need of making my Christmas cards I came up with this.

I used an image from the Holly & Madison World Tour Collection! I cheated a bit with the third snowflake though! LOL

Copic Colour Challenge # 43

My goodness, how quickly has Christmas snuck up upon us!!! Things are still unsettled here but I live in hope for a stress free Christmas...HO, HO, HO! My sister's op went ahead last week and she is now at home recovering. My mum had a two week stay in hospital with fears of her new kidney rejecting but came home last Thursday. This was rather short lived as yesterday they called her back in with yet more concerns so once again, she is stuck up in King's College, London...while I am full of cold and stuck in Kent! Oh well, that's they way it goes and I am completely helpless again!
With Chistmas and the silly season upon us there is no chance of finding my crafty mojo just yet I am afraid but I did however make a very basic attempt at this week's Copic Colour Challenge.
The colours are;

and here is my card;

Pop over and play along!

Dottie's World - You're a star!

It was my turn to set the challenge over on Dottie's World and still in search of my crafty mojo I struggled again! I am still in desperate need of some christmas cards so I decided on something that could be interpreted as festive if you so choose to....there are surely other crafters out there that still aren't organised....aren't there?
"This week I would like to to incorporate stars in your creations, it could be a patterned paper, a star shaped card or a few twinkling embellies...the choice is your as long as we can see at least one star and a charmed download....anything goes."
