Cards for teachers...number 1!

With the end of another school year looming, I desperately need to sit down and start making cards for the teachers and TAs! Not as easy as it should have been today as I was up with Jack for most of the night, and now Chris has come home feeling poorly too!!

Jack has managed to have a few hours sleep today so I set to work on the first of many cards for the teachers! I took the opportunity to scrap lift a design from the Sassy Crafts Blog as part of a competition over on Just Bex. Here are the details!

"I've been meaning to get round to doing a competition for all you Just Bex members so here goes: For this challenge i'm going to keep it easy Project lift (yes another ) but you get to choose which project you would like to lift from the Sassy Crafts Blog. Once you have created your project please let us know which project you have lifted (if you could copy the photo into your post that would be great so we can all see). "
Well this was a tricky one as I couldn't decide which one to lift...LOL....note to self " I really must be more decisive!" Eventually I decided on this one by the very talented Jules;

and here is my take on it! I took Edwin with pencil, stamped three images cut and coloured as below. Then I attacked them with irridescent glitter glue (wings) and my beloved Glossy accents (pencil and shoes.) Layered them up and followed template of the scrap lift.

A little bit of sunshine!!

Yeah, I wish.....I have been drenched so many times this week I am growing webbed feet!

I needed something to cheer up the gloom so I made a card using "Hammock Dottie" from the Dottie at Home collection. I took inspiration from 2 challenges here.

First Dotties World where I choose to work with the letter P! I used:

patterned paper
paper piecing
polka dots
prismacolor pencils
printing
pen
primas...... er...any more?

Then I used Dotties take on the Great Outdoors challenge over on Cute Card Thursday. None of this camping, gardening, walking lark...Dottie likes to spend her time relaxing in her hammock sipping a nice cold drink!

Another sketch card!!

I needed to make a card for my Aunt's birthday and after enjoying my new Magnolia stamps so much I decided to try out another card using the Sketch (#6) over on Charmed Cards and Crafts

This one didn't really follow the sketch so closely but I really enjoyed making it...funny really as I struggled with this sketch...LOL...well I struggle with any sketch!

Challenging Sunday- Update.

Well I never managed all I set out to but I am pleased anyway. I have done loads of painting! Rather than stop when I had finished the little hallway in the extension, I carried on into the rest of the house and now nearly the whole of the upstairs hallway has had it's first coat!!!

My NVQ emails are up to date, scanned in a few documents and I am waiting for a reply.
Hmmm,,, 3 crafty challenges, perhaps it was a bit optimistic but I did manage 2.
Over on My Time to Craft the challenge this week is to make something with the theme of "seasons." I really wanted to use the same stamp 4 times and make a card for each of the seasons but I only managed a Wintery one!!! Not sure whether to add a few sprigs of holly- might play again tomorrow after work!

My First ATC!

This morning I have made my first ever ATC- I am going to send it to one of Chris's work colleagues (and her daughter) who kindly let Jack borrow the complete set of "The Series of Unfortunate events" books.

I took the opportunity from this weeks Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge seeing as I now own a few. I used Tilda with Rosebud again, cut down and embellished with a Prima. I am not a lover of lavenders/purples but a change is as good as a rest they say! Here is my version of "Lavender & lace."

My "challenging" Sunday!

Today I challenge myself to;

Complete 3 blog/forum challenges
Paint the little hallway in the extension
Catch up on NVQ emails.

I have almost completed my first challenge already this morning and the glossy accents are drying as I type.....my first ATC! Right, cuppa finished, off to sort out the paint!

Dingle meets Edwin!

I have had such fun playing with this new stamp, cutting out 3 images and making up a little decoupage Edwin. This card is going to a party this afternoon, I do hope JOE likes it!

I used the sketch template on Tilda & Co Challenge for my first attempt there! Here is the template:

and here is my card- jiggled around a little bit!!

Tilda Temptation!

I have finally given in to Tilda temptation....I just couldn't resist trying a few which were reduced. So this week I ordered 4 stamps which landed on my doormat today! In need of making a card-QUICK- I set to work this afternoon and stamped a few images. One of these I have used together with The Sketch Challenge #6 over on Charmed Cards and Crafts.

Papers-Basic Grey Blush.

Dottie in the Snow!!!

Juliet set a little challenge a while back to try to use all the different Dottie (& George of course) download images. There is no time limit to this so I thought I'd try to play along. LOL..didn't quite realise how many images I had until I listed them all today. Slowly but surely I will work my way through them.
SO...next is Dottie in the Snow, another image I coloured in last night. Used up the scrap of red Dottie paper from this mornings card....well it matched Dottie wellies so perfectly! I played along with the sketch on Challenge Ismaki for this one. Not too sure of the final result, looks too busy and cluttered but I had fun making it anyway.

Here is the sketch;

and here is my card;

A Dottie Template Challenge.

I haven't had the time (or mojo) to join in many challenges recently but I am trying to catch up for a bit of lost time today....it's those Prismacolors that have done it you know!

I coloured a few images last night and today I have managed to make another Christmas card - this time using the wonderful inspiration over on Dotties World! This week (challenge #8) is a template.

...and here is what I came up with.

One Ferdy= 2 challenges!!!!

Well - what with the arrival of my Prismacolor pencils yesterday, it would have been very rude not have tried them out. Joanne kindly sent me a few paper stumps to try out but unfortunately I haven't had a chance to get any Sansodor.......so I have been using a Boots Lavender massage oil!!!!! LOL.......so crafting has been particuarly relaxing eh!!

I need to get my crafty backside into gear and find my mojo again so what better way than this weeks Dare! I used Ferdy Snow Frog again....I have had such fun with this stamp-thank you Nikki. I also wanted to try my first attempt at a frame card....I searched the land of blog and found a tutorial I saw back in March for Papertake Weekly. Thank you to everyone for the inspiration!
