My Exploding Box Challenge- Box no.6

Well, so far I have managed to make 1 little box each day for the last 6 days. I had cut several out on the first day and bit by bit, worked through them. Box number 6 I decided to make in purple, well actually it's Stampin'Up Perfect Plum....I am not a purple person but I know lots of people are so I thought it would make a slight change from some of the pale/pastel colours I have used so far.

And here are my first 6 boxes, all together and ready for wrapping and packing.

I now have no more templates cut out ready so I might try making some on a black card stock....perhaps a few boxes for men??? What do you think?

My Exploding Box Challenge - no.5

Sorry, another box!!!! LOL Used up a couple of sheets of old 6x6 papers here. I should be saving time but instead I decided to draw faux stitching around this one! (mad woman that I am!)

Only 1 more box to make before the first part of the order is complete and my little boxes will be on their way to a new home! THEN I need to make a start on part 2 of the order! EEEK.

My Exploding Box Challenge - Box No.4

Box no.4 complete and I am getting a bit bored now! LOL
The other day I painstakingly cut a strip of tulle, gathered and stitched it to bulk out and add depth
to a little flower. I used this trial on the top of this box but when I wanted to repeat the effect of the
tulle inside the box I decided to be lazy and I just threaded the stem of the flower through the tulle
and cut around it very roughly.

My darling hubby is popping into Hobbycraft today to, hopefully, pick me up another pack of card. I have got quite a few sheets of 12x12 card stock but all mishmash colours. I have asked for either a pack of black or white, so fingers crossed, even making a few on black card stock will give me a bit of a change.

I am still feeling rotten, it has been raining all day, some half term this is turning out! The highlight of my day has been watching the birds in the garden as we filled up the bird feeder yesterday. It was quite amusing watching the seagulls, blackbirds and magpies and their fisticuffs over a bit of stale bread and some seed!

To cheer myself up I have promised to make time and place myself a Stampin Up order tonight, my only issue is that I can never decide what to get!

Stampin UpMaterials used include; Designer Series paper in Pretty in Pink, Pearl Basic Jewels, You are loved Stamp Set, Papillon Potpourri Butterfly Stamps set, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Decorative Label Punch.

My Exploding Box Challenge - no. 3

This morning it has been pouring down and, although I am starting to feel a little more human again, I am still poorly! The children have had a lazy day and I have been working on Box no.3

I decided to simplify this one a little, and although I inked some of the embellishments, I didn't actually ink the edges of the box or it's embossed panels. I used a scrap of gorgeous white lace, which was hard to part with. LOL

I had a Wedding in mind for this one, keeping it very neutral with just a touch of "something blue!"

Here are boxes 1,2 and 3 together....

My latest little box meets the criteria over at;

Cute card Thursday - Tie it up
Pile it On - Put a bird on it
Creative Card Crew - Punches/dies

My Exploding Box Challenge No. 2

Well, I was hoping to have achieved more today but all I have done is measure and cut the basics of  5 boxes and make up only 1 of those. So I now have two little boxes sitting on the side. As I am making these I am coming up with other ideas for styles, themes etc but I have been asked for "similar designs" so I feel restricted with what I should do.

This one is actually a pale green but that doesn't really come over in the photographs.

Despite the foam and rubber tips all coming off I am loving my little alphabet stamps,I copied tiny little banner type lettering which I saw on a Stampin' Up site somewhere. SO versatile.

I used Stampin Up; Seam Binding Ribbon in Rose Red, Stamp Set You are loved, Stamp Set Papillon Potpourri, Decorative Label Punch, Stampin Write Markers in Wild Wasabi and Rose Red.

This little box meets the criteria over at:

Rhedd & Rosie - Blooming Lovely
Crafty Bloggers Network- O's & X's challenge - Die cut or punch, flowers, ribbon

Onwards to box no. 3, see you again soon hopefully!

My Exploding Box Challenge - NO.1

Little boxes on the hillside work desk,
Little boxes made of ticky tacky card stock,
Little boxes on the hillside work desk,
Little boxes all the same,
There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue one and a yellow one,
And they're all made out of ticky tacky card stock
And they all look just the same.

I have been asked if I could make quite a few of these, 12 in fact, in similar design to the last 2 I've made.
So here goes. Box no.1.

I didn't have enough 12x12 white card stock so we took a drive down to Hobby Craft in Maidstone this morning but they didn't have enough either! At least I have some so I can be getting on with for now! I was a good girl, very restrained. I brought Amelia a small, lined notebook (to keep her quiet) and apart from the card stock all I treated myself to was one of those tiny little alphabet sets from Dovecraft but once home I had to restick nearly all the little foam and rubber tips onto the wooden blocks!

MY little box meets the criteria over at:

Pile it on - Put a Bird on it
Sister Act - No 8, anything goes
Through the Craftroom Door - Anything goes

Tomorrow I will start box no.2 LOL

Watch the Birdie! SU Bird Builder Punch

In an attempt to get creative and build up some stock, I am going mad about these little birds. I took the same basic layout that I used on the top of one of recent exploding boxes and over the last few days I have been crafting in between everything else in my cluttered little life. I punched a few birds one day, cut a few squares another, then embossed and inked.........and this afternoon after what seemed like a very long morning at work I thought I'd try to actually create something other than a huge mess.

This was my first card, using some of my favourite colours.

This was my second attempt, thinking of Weddings, Anniversaries, Engagements etc.
Not sure is it's too bland???

Now I almost gave up on my third card, I think the pale blue took me out of my comfort zone!!LOL

Stampin' Up Bird Builder Punch Card

I am feeling rather sorry for myself, I have been ill for a week now and this rotten head cold shows no sign of shifting. I had been really starting to get into my new "healthier" fitness routine too by starting Couch to 5K. I think I may as well start all over again, hopefully in a few days time when, fingers crossed, I feel better.

Had a "day off" today so I have made a few phone calls, done some paperwork, and spent some time this afternoon with crafting. I haven't actually achieved much, punched out, inked and glued several little birdies, and started making up some toppers. My plan was to make small batches of the same design, just using different variations of colours, ribbons, etc....but so far I have only completed the one little lonesome card!

Still, one more than I had before! I used the same design as that I put on my last exploding box.

This card meets the criteria over at;
Sister Act - #7 Anything goes
Crafting for all Seasons - Think Pink
Card Makin Mamas - Punches
ABC - Not just one

Hope to get my creativity going again soon but the day is running out, got parent's evening tonight!

Tidying up some Crafty Loose ends.

I have taken a few days off sick, pounding head, congested, croaky voice, ache all over, I am sure you know the feeling. Had a bit of a nightmare day yesterday what with one thing and another and after several phone calls in an attempt to resolve matters my day was over before I knew it.

Shattered as ever today but dosing myself up and hoping for the best. I decided to get a few loose ends tied up, things hanging around but not quite complete. It will be great to get my "To Do List" out and cross a few of them through.

Now these likkle piggies have been sitting on my kitchen worktop for some time now. My mum has knitted them (as I was supposed to be concentrating on Stampin'Up) and I had promised to make up the washing instruction labels. At last, I have done them. Made up an Excel spreadsheet, printed and cut out a small batch. Now these Little Piggies can go to Market....as such!

NOW, my mum and me were debating over which piggies we liked best. The pale pink are only acrylic and work out slightly cheaper than the dark pink cotton ones. Piggy Opinion poll please!

These little teds have also been sat on my side but I took them out into the sunshine of my conservatory for their photo shoot before I label them too.

Right, what next?????

My first attempt at bunting.....

IS COMPLETE!

Not perfect by any stretch of the imagination but hopefully it brightens up the tatty piano!

Next on the list to be "tarted up!" THE STORY OF THE TATTY STOOL!

....oh yes, and an attempt to make a peg bag......those old curtain have come in handy!
My seamstress skills need a lot of practice.

Exploding Box takes a another step forward.

My next little exploding box has been in a state of "undress" for a while so this afternoon I decorated the lid and one of the "layers" inside. I was unsure of using the black and white gingham ribbon against the pale colours but I am quite please how it's turned out.

I am loving the SU bird builder punch, I can see lots more likkle birdies in my work!

Seeing a the lid of this little box is only approximately 3x3inches I am entering it into the latest challenge over at Crafts by Carolyns.
