EEK...Incy Wincy Spider!

Well the kitchen seems to have taken a huge step backward today, the electrician changed all the socket fronts to nice brushed silvery ones and unfortunately there is much more making good than we had anticipated.

It also took up most of the afternoon so the newly delivered kitchen is still in boxes...in the garage!

We have almost finished putting together our second cupboard, a big cupboard when we discovered this little fella!!! EEK!

It's only about 1cm big but I have never seen a spider like it before...any ideas as to what it is? We have it in an old tupperware pot at the moment!

Urgh, I've got shivers going down my spine. I HATE spiders but I've just spent 5 minutes googling pictures of them, and now I can feel things crawling on me.
Haven't found a picture of your spider anywhere, but there's a good insect/spider ID request thread on Flickr

If i was in my house I'd be checking the lid every few minutes to makesure it was safely trapped.

I have been googling it too, I can't find anything similar either... was it in your cupboard box or was it just in your house...

I just googled as well and it looks like a crab spider. They're a garden spider, not deadly. Apparently they come in a range of different types and colours, too.

Eek. I would have freaked! I hope it is a crab spider - I read an article on Yahoo this week which says that there is now a spider spreading in the UK which is one of the Widow family and it's venom can kill a human! (It doesn't look like this one though so don't panic).I think you can contact the RSPCA to ask them to identify it or a local zoo. Good luck!
