Copic Addicts Anonymous!

Hello, my name is Adele and I have a Copic addiction!!!! In fact earlier this week I had to treat myself to a few more, I blamed it on the stress of the kitchen and the children being off school.
I will also blame this latest purchase on Kay, she has started selling them in her shop you see.

Just look HERE!!! Such fabby prices too- how is a girl to resist!(well old woman!)

I rushed to mark off my new colours on my shade chart, refilled E00 and got to work...well, play!

This is my little image collection I have prepared so far! (you may notice a few images in there I haven't used before...but I am denying all knowledge of them!)

But now another dilemma...which image do I use first?

Dottie's World Challenge - Coffee & Cream!

It's Sunday again, which means another Dottie's World Challenge. This week it is Karen who set the challenge;

"Coffee and Cream with spots or stripes"
and a Charmed download of course.

Now-rumaging through my papers I struggled to find much inspiration in these colours...I had images in my mind, but not the papers to go with them-frustrating! Eventually I found one lonely little sheet of 6x6 that fitted the bill, got my Copics out and coloured away! here is what I ended up with.
I used the "Holly in England" image from the Holly & Madison World Tour Collection-first time I have used this image and I thoroughly enjoyed colouring it! I duplicated the litte roses around her hat with the small rose embellishments and as I wanted a subtle effect for the stripes, I simply got my sewing machine out and sewed a few wavy lines...cheating I know, but it met the criteria! LOL

Dottie's world have some new Design Team members showing their creations, so the variety of examples is wider than ever. Make sure you pop over to have a look and join in the fun. The party over there is almost finished so don't miss out.

ABC.....Sarah Kay!

Had to make an engagement card today...in fact, I still have another one to make but here is my first.
I used this week's ABC challenge for inspiration, which this week is "P for pearls!"

I so loved colouring this image but didn't really have much pearly inspiration. Eventually I used White Opal Liquid Pearls but now as I sit here typing, I have just remembers some lovely mother of pearl buttons that would have worked a treat. Oh well save those for a rainy day!

Christmas at DewDrop Craftz!

I am running behind with my Design Team entry for the latest challenge over at DewDrop Craftz. But you still have over a week to go over and play along to be in with a chance of a prize. This time we need to make a Christmas ornament.....well my mojo really seemed to get lost in the chaos of the kitchen being renewed...but as the dust has settled, I managed to get the old brain cell active and eventually came up with an idea!

I decided to make a little plaque/doorhanger......Christmas sign thingy!!LOL

There is also a challenge over a Crafts by Carolyns that has just been set by the lovely Jennie of The Artistic Stamper. This fits the bill quite well so I am going to submit it there too! Hmmm, now I will have to save this for me to hang up Christmas Eve...as a certain young lady is being a right little monster today!

Feeling broody?

LOL.....NO! Especially during the school hols with my two argueing practically non stop! Here's my next baby card.

Sorry, colours are awful but I cannot get better lighting now.
I used the sketch over at Dies to Die for for inspiration-thank you...LOL...another card down!

Copic Colour Challenge meets Toodle & Binks.

This weeks colours over at Copic Colour Challenge are;

I used one of the new stamps from Toodles and Binks, Sid Silvertrail and tried to get ahead of myself for a certain birthday in June!!!

I substituted the Pea Green for a combination of YG95-Pale Olive,G99-Olive and BG93 Green Gray. Remeber you don't need to use all three colours, just the closest Copic colour or colours you have! Pop over to she what the rest of the DT have created!

Baby, baby!

Oh goodness, my next door neighbour came to me a while ago asking if I could make a couple of baby cards. A few day later, her next door neighbour asked the same as she had also had a baby born to her family. THEN her next door neighbour knocked on my door asking for 3 more baby cards as she has had a baby born in her family...LOL...I do hope it's not something in the water!

...AND, do you think I had any baby cards in my little stock box!!!!

Here is the first of the last batch!

I have made this with the recipe challenge over at Creative Treasures for inspiration. I hope the little bit of glitter and the heart charm with suffice as "bling!" I don't really do bling!

I wanted to leave the front clear of any wording as I am going to decorate and personalise the inside.

One down, two more to go...but then the next card on my list is a twin boys 1st Birthday card...GOODNESS, baby, baby, baby!

Be back later with this weeks Copic Colour Challenge card!

Dottie's World- Buttons or Beads!

It was my turn to set the challenge over on Dottie's World this week and I took inspiration from my Button box. I was sorting out a few for Nicki's charity project and thought how naughty it was to hoard all those button but never use them, same for my beads too! So I dusted them off and decided to use them in a challenge.
"I have tons of them but rarely use them ! Dig deep into your crafty stash and embellish away. It doesn't matter how you use them, as long as they are visible on your creation. If you haven't got any (!!!!) improvise! Only other "rule" is that a Charmed Download must be used."

Now decisions decisions.....I have some lovely new flowers to play with and some really pretty, little buttons but somehow I could not part with them, not even sure where they came from but they look very old. So I decided to go for something else, some metal buttons that were just crying out to be used on a masculine card.....and here it is!

The inspiration for the card really came from the pattern around the arrow, the ribbon sort of blended in with this and being that the image is quite young I thought text m=language might be appropriate....but I showed hubby Chris and he didn't pick up on the "Happy Birthday......2 u!"
Hmmmm...now I am worried it doesn't make sense...LOL.
Enough waffle, must get on I have more kitchen cupboards in store today and if I am very lucky we came get the dishwasher plumbed in again. On a bad note, the washing machine exploded yesterday morning! It literally had sparks flying out the bottom and went up in a puff of smoke fusing the electrics on the way!
Make sure you pop over to Dottie's World and see the rest of the Design Teams creations!

EEK...Incy Wincy Spider!

Well the kitchen seems to have taken a huge step backward today, the electrician changed all the socket fronts to nice brushed silvery ones and unfortunately there is much more making good than we had anticipated.

It also took up most of the afternoon so the newly delivered kitchen is still in boxes...in the garage!

We have almost finished putting together our second cupboard, a big cupboard when we discovered this little fella!!! EEK!

It's only about 1cm big but I have never seen a spider like it before...any ideas as to what it is? We have it in an old tupperware pot at the moment!

Copic Colour Challenge #14!

I as a bit out of my comfort zone with this weeks colours over at Copic Colour Challenge...but am I ever comfortable with my work! LOL...hmmmm, don't think so! I ummed and arrhed over these colours, should I only use 2 of them....which two should I use.....oh...which image inspired me for these colours...sorry. Seem to have completely lost my mojo in the wreck of my kitchen being renewed.
Anyway, enough of the waffle as I need to go to work for a short while today.
Here are this week's colours:

As you can see they are bold and bright, but please remember you don't need the exact Copic Colours to join in, use the closest you have and just go with the inspiration. As I mentioned earlier, you don't have to use all three either, pick even the closest you have to only one of the colours and go with the flow!

Here's what I, eventually, ended up with.

Unfortuantely a few of our Design Team members have had to stand down so this week we have three new designers for you, so make sure you pop over and see the rest of the creations and then....GRAB THOSE COPICS!

Over at BasicGrey Challenges ;

"This weeks challenge is a really tasty one, as its nearly summer what better way to celebrate than to have a challenge inspired by a hot summers day favourite treat , that's right Ice cream, this weeks challenge we would like you to be inspired by your favourite ice cream flavour, you can be inspired many ways by your favourite ice cream so let your imaginations run wild, and we cant wait to see your tasty creations."

Here's my card.

I had such fun making this, I need to get a few details confirmed then I am going to decorate and personalise the middle of the card too.

A Pocket Challenge from DewDrop Craftz!

Last night saw a new challenge launched over at DewDrop Craftz.
This has been set by Sarah.. and would like you to incorporate a 'pocket' into your creation.
This could be a pocket to hold a secret message.. money or even another part of the creation..
The winner of this challenge randomly picked, will win a choice of stamp from the DewDrop Craftz shop.
Now I have used an image from a stamp to be released very soon- you will have to keep a watch out for it - great for those tricky boys cards.

Dottie's World Challenge - Charmed!

A very short and sweet post for now as I am still up to my eyes in painting the kitchen and the weekend is almost over!
This week over on Dottie's World it was Juliet's turn to challenge us!
"Charmed - this week's challenge is to add a charm to your project. It can be anything as long as it dangles (oops sorry, does that sound too rude?) and, of course, include one of the Charmed downloads too!"
Now I faffed around with my charms but ended up with one of the little hearts I have been using on my cards quite a bit recently.
Here's what I ended up with.

Please pop over to Dotties' World to see the other creation from the rest of the Design Team...and grab your downloads and join in the fun!

Right best get back to the kitchen....well can't really call it that at the moment but at least it has got a sink, an oven and a fridge/freezer in it!!!

Now if you have buttons overflowing in your button box, please consider donating a few to a very worthy cause...a little button can go a long way! Here are some of the creations that are given out to children who desperately need some love and care in their lives...and here are some details about the children who these wonderful cushions go to!

If you feel you could dig deep into your button box to help out please contact me for details.

My first Charmed Stamp-meet Annie!

With the arrival of my first Charmed stamps this week I managed to push the paperwork and decorating to one side for a little while to play!

Now I really don't get much time to join in with challenges at the moment so I cheated and combined two together!

Now the first challenge I made this card for was Colour Create....I am SO loving the colour challenges. Not that I need an excuse to play with my Copics! The colour inspiration this week is:
and the other challenge I joined in with was the ABC Challenge which this week is M for Metallic.
Here's my card. I LOVED working with these colours, somehow made me think of Christmas!!!!! Hmmm and as for the metallic I have been doing a bit on online window shopping for a few fancies...my credit card is itching a bit now! LOL
